Leaders in genetic discovery
The Jackson Laboratory has a long history of excellence and leadership in genetic and genomic research and discovery. We empower the scientific and medical communities to improve health and help realize the power of genomic medicine.
Clinical genetic and genomic education
In 2013, the Jackson Laboratory signed an agreement with the National Coalition of Health Professional Education in Genetics (NCHPEG) to acquire the organization's extensive educational programs and assets and hire three core employees.
NCHPEG was founded in 1996 as an "organization of organizations" committed to a national effort to promote health professional education and access to information about advances in human genetics. The organization grew to represent more than 50 health professional organizations, consumer and volunteer groups, government agencies, private industry, managed care organizations and genetics professional societies.
With this agreement, The Jackson Laboratory leverages 17 years of expertise, education, and resources in genetic and genomic education for diverse health professional audiences.
New initiative in clinical & continuing education
